The most popular dive course in the world

Open Water Diver

The PADI Open Water Diver Course is the most popular dive course in the world.  It qualifies you to dive to a maximum depth of 18 metres/ 60 feet.   The certification is valid for life and is suitable, as a starting platform, for diving the world over.

There are many ways to become a PADI Open Water Diver.  Our recommendation is that you begin your PADI training back home through PADI eLearning.   This allows you to complete the academic portion of the course online prior to your arrival at Tokoriki Island Resort.  The program works like a breeze, but in the event of any glitches we, your PADI Instructors, are only an email away to assist.

With a fair chunk of the course taken care of, once you are in Fiji it's our job to turn theory in to practice.  Personalized instruction, a dedicated salt water dive training pool, and dive sites that are sheltered and comfortable yet brimming with marine life: we have all the right ingredients to making your Open Water Course with us an experience that is flexible, fun, and rewarding.  Learn more about the PADI eLearning Open Water Diver course by viewing our Fact File.

If online training is not your thing, we also teach the full PADI Open Water Diver Course from start to finish here at Tokoriki Island Resort.  When choosing this option, the only screen you'll see is the one on your dive computer.  Rather than an online theory program, you'll be provided with a PADI Crew Pak which includes a manual and log book.  We'll then complement your self study with poolside tutorials.

Padi Open Water Referral Course

Learning to dive is now as flexible as ever.  It may be that you have already had the opportunity to complete your PADI theory and pool work back home and are looking for a PADI dive centre to finish off the open water segment of your training.  This is called the PADI Open Water Referral and is a good option if you live or work near to a PADI dive centre back home, and are only here in paradise for a short period of time.  The PADI Open Water Referral can be completed in as little as 2 days.
