Mamanuca Environmental Society (MES) Staff Training
Tuesday October 16, 2007
Our staff were very keen to invite back to the Island the Mamanuca Environmental Society. A one day “Refresher“ workshop was held to remind staff of best practice guidelines for water based activities. Topics covered included the biology of coral reefs and reef creatures, threats to the coral reef, endangered species and conservation guidelines—a reminder of what to do and what not to do. The workshop ended with a guided snorkel…however, the marine biologists were so blown away by the healthy status of our beautiful house reef, they abandoned the session and concentrated instead on marvelling at the coral and fish life!
