Fishing Boats, Tackle and Crew
Our 8.1m/27ft Ramco Explorer ‘Watch Dog’ is fully kitted out for fishing the local waters. Built in 2005, she is powered by a 225HP outboard, and equipped with outriggers and a downrigger. All safety gear is carried on board—VHF radio, First Aid Kit, Flares etc.
Tackle on board ranges from ultra light spinning gear through to 15kg (30lb) and 24kg (50lb) trolling outfits. All rods and reels are top class, from manufacturers such as Penn, Shimano and Daiwa. A wide range of minnows (Rapalas and Halcos) and skirted lures are carried. Successful techniques include trolling and casting lures, but we also specialize in trolling dead baits.
Your fishing guides are local Fijians from the neighbouring island of Yanuya. They have a wealth of experience of the local waters and are keen fishermen themselves. They all hold Boatmaster licenses and have been trained in the use of up to date tackle and techniques.
