About Tokoriki Diving and the Dive Team

In 1999 Will and Alex arrived in Fiji after five years living and working in Egypt. They took over the dive concession at Tokoriki Island Resort and have spent the years since building a highly respected independent boutique dive operation. In 2005 they diversified to take over the rest of the boating activities at Tokoriki Island Resort. Both Will and Alex work hands on in all areas of the business and they put their success down to this. A lot of hard work has been invested into building a caring, knowledgeable dive team and an inventory of good equipment and excellent boats. Protecting and understanding the marine environment that they are privileged to enjoy is a main priority. Their philosophy is to never lose site of the personal touch, and to make the most out of every dive for every diver. h3. The Owners

Will Wragg

Alex Garland
PADI IDC Staff Instructor, PADI Specialty Instructor, First Aid trained, DAN O2 Provider. Coral Cay Conservation Fish, Coral and Inverts Course certified.

With over 6000 dives between them Will and Alex are highly experienced PADI Dive Instructors. Both have recently been awarded the prestigious PADI ‘Certificate of Recognition for Excellence’, for outstanding customer service and professionalism in PADI Scuba Instruction. They are founder members of the Mamanuca Environment Society (MES) and actively promote best environmental practices. With over six years experience at Tokoriki Island Resort, they have intimate knowledge of the area’s reefs and species, and a love for the Fiji islands and oceans. h3. And The Rest of The Staff

Kale Vunivalu
PADI Divemaster, FIMSA Boat Master, PADI Emergency First Responder, DAN O2 provider. Coral Cay Conservation Fish, Coral and Inverts Course certified, Fishing and Tour Guide. Kale is from neighbouring Yanuya Island. He has over five years of diving in Tokoriki’s local waters. Kale’s knowledge of reef fish and corals is impressive—he was the first Fijian to complete the Coral Cay Conservation Science week.
A guided tour with Kale is an underwater naturalist’s dream! Kale is also a very experienced fisherman and is particularly keen on popper fishing. He also accompanies guests on many of our excursions. He has a lovely manner with guests and an infectious laugh!

Fabi Tunisau
PADI Rescue Diver (in training for Divemaster status), FIMSA Boat Master, PADI Emergency First Responder, DAN O2 provider. Coral Cay Conservation Fish, Coral and Inverts Course certified, Fishing and Tour Guide. Fabi has been working for Dive Tropex Tokoriki since 2004. Fabi has a bright future and we have plans for him to be one day Yanuya Island’s first ever PADI Dive Instructor!
At present Fabi accompanies divers underwater when he can, in order to gain experience, local knowledge and confidence. Fabi loves crewing on fishing trips and often is a favourite with guests on our excursions.

Vili Ratouvou
PADI Rescue Diver, Head Tour Guide, Fishing Guide. Although Vili has only been with us for just over a year he has already made his mark. He is a wonderfully charismatic leader on all of our tours, being very informative and considerate as well as a lot of fun. He enjoys sharing his wealth of knowledge about the local islands, people and customs.
Vili’s family are the landowners for Monuriki Island, so a trip to the Tom Hanks movie island is not to be missed. Vili is also a very keen fishermen and often crews on fishing charters.

Mala Lewavari
PADI Advanced Diver, FIMSA Boat Master, Fishing Guide. Mala is our senior staff member, having worked for Tokoriki Island Resort for six years, and ourselves for the last two. He has vast experience of the local Mamanuca waters in all conditions and is a truly excellent boat skipper. Mala tends to concentrate on skippering fishing trips and boat transfers.
